| La Posadas will be held at the Hawkins Preserve on Dec. 19 at 3 p.m.; please meet at the parking area. The Cortez Cultural Center, Father Patrick Valdez and the Saint Margaret Mary Church will lead you through this tradition. La Posadas symbolizes the trials that "Mother of Jesus," Mary, and "Joseph of Nazareth," Joseph, endured before finding a place to stay where "Jesus of Nazareth," Jesus, could be born. After meeting in the parking area, the group will walk along the trail to the picnic area, stopping along the way to ask for shelter. Shelter will only be granted at the picnic area, where songs will be sung and snacks will be shared.
